Oil Pulling

I’ve been “pulling” for about a month now and I have to say I was sold by day 3. I only pull once a day and my oil of choice is sunflower. I have tried sesame, as I read this oil yields the best results, but the taste was a little strong for me.

Oil, Sunflower Oil, Cooking Oil, Food

No matter how much I like some new addition to my health and beauty regimen if takes too much time out of my morning I’m not going to do it. I’ve found the easiest way for me to incorporate this, is by pouring some oil into a measuring cap, commonly found on children’s cold medicine, and putting it into my mouth right before stepping into the shower. I pull the oil through my teeth until I can no longer detect the texture of oil but foam. The first week or so was a challenge because my jaws were a little sore before I had completely broken down the oil. By the time I exit the shower now, the oil is fully broken down and I spit it directly into the toilet as it is full of toxins. (You will definitely see an increase in how often you have to clean your toilet once you start pulling.) Then I brush my teeth as usual and proceed with my day.

My gums no longer bleed while brushing and my teeth are noticeably whiter now. I began oil pulling for the purpose of improving my dental health but there have been some other benefits that are major bonuses.
