A Pleasant Period

Alright ladies, let’s get personal. Whether you call them moon days, Aunt Flo, ladies’ days, a period, a cycle, or the curse I don’t know of any woman that looks forward to having her menstrual cycle. They are inconvenient and messy at best and expensive and painful at worse. For some of us it’s cause for a trip to the doctor for pain meds due to debilitating cramps or the drug store to stock up on iron tablets due to fatigue and weakness caused by excessive blood loss.

Woman, Depressed, Depressed Woman

The cure for the curse, short of growing out of it, is birth control designed to halt your flow for extended periods of time or a surgical procedure. I personally am a fan of neither. However, due to the duration and strength of my flow either a partial or complete hysterectomy was a very real consideration for me after my third and final birth accompanied by a tubal ligation. Not wanting to choose elective surgery, I went in search of ways to make this unavoidable fact of life both less expensive and less painful.
